Internment Camp: Pictures |
Woodcut by E. S. (Erich Schuldt?) |
The fine woodcut shows some barracks, the barbed-wire fence and a watch tower of the camp under a dramatically clouded sky; in the background are the steeples of St Castulus' and St John's churches. The monogram "ES" on the picture could be that of the internee Erich Schuldt who made drawings in the camp. It is uncertain whether also this woodcut was made there (e. g. as a New Year's card?) or only after the the artist's release from internment. Picture: © Werner Fleischmann |
